Found!!

Yesterday was another sunny day with the cold north wind. The high got to 15.1C. This morning the sky is clearing and it is 8C. We are to have sunshine and 22C. The wind is also suppose to blow but not like it has been.

Lifestyle

I started the morning out with laundry which went until almost noon. With Elliott shedding, I have to wash not only the sheets but the blankets to rid them of cat hair. While the laundry was on, I cleaned the dining area. The heat pump head was cleaned as were the filters. The chairs and table were scrubbed and finally a light bulb was changed. The floors were swept and washed. I was sore when I got done as I had been up and down the little ladder many times.

The company who is going to mow the lawns were here yesterday morning. They walked the property, made a plan and got it done in no time flat. They will trim the hedge in a bit (which I will remind them) and will be back to mow next week. I am pleased with what they got done. I need to do weeding now.

On the go while doing housework and laundry, was a pot of chicken for soup. I got 2 containers which will make 4 meals. I add more chicken broth, rice, and vegetables when I have them for meals. They are in the freezer waiting for cool wet days. I do love soup.

Sewing

I had one more look for the 3-1 Colour Tool and I found it exactly where I thought I put it. A pad of paper was on top of it. When I lifted the pad of paper there it was.

Block #3 was set up to stitch out on the Diamond. I am trying to get them done but they take well over an hour to stitch out so it's one a day. I have to stay in the room to babysit it as I have to change colours and put in full bobbins. These blocks are thread hungry.

I cut out the doll's dress and the trim for the cloche hat in the bee fabric. I pinned the rest of the hat out of the honey comb fabric and it is ready to cut out. I have plenty of fabric left over for shoes and maybe a simple short jacket.

I started to sew the bodice of the dress. I did the shoulder seams on both the outer and lining pieces. The one on the right is the outer bodice.

I glued the neckline at the shoulder seams, center back and center front. They sewed together so nicely and I wasn't fighting pins. I decided to trace the seam allowance on the armhole, glue it together and sewed. So much easier to sew when you have it glued together and a line to follow. I clipped the neckline and one armhole and called it a day. The embroidery was done and I needed to think about cooking dinner.

I am happy that I am using fabric glue to hold seams together for both doll clothes and quilting. It has been a game changer in accuracy for me. There are items I won't use it on but when I need to be accurate, I will use it.

I have ignored pressing fabrics. I need to press three pieces and cut out what I need for two placemats. Then I can decide if I will make 2 more or ??. I did find a blue check fabric I can use for the back of the table runner(s). I need to focus on it when I finish the doll's dress. I needed to do something different and I've missed sewing for the dolls.

Knitting

I didn't knit last night as I needed to research how to sew the shoulder seams together correctly. I need to take the pieces down to the cutting table and pin the shoulder seams together and then stitch them standing up. Not exactly and evening job as I need good daylight for this job.

I will start the next project (doll sweater) to help pass the evenings. I need to keep my hands busy in the evenings.

Thoughts

I fought with my glucose readings being low all day. Two were in the high 3's and one in the high 4's. I was tired and hungry. I am going to have to have 1/2 cup of fruit each meal I am low to help keep the glucose readings in the "green" (good) area. I've gone from worrying about being in the high 5's to the high 3's.

I am really sore from going up and down the short ladder yesterday. It could be how I have to tighten all my muscles to balance on it or it could be my knee hates going up and down the steps. I won't stop using it and will suffer through the pain if necessary.

I am going to have to go out and spray the weeds in the wind. I have to top worrying about it getting into the neighbour's yard. They let their garbage get on my yard and I have to pick it up. I will try to be careful but I know there will be a bit of over spray in the wind.

Today

My goal is to start cleaning the two bedroom and then go out and spray around 11 am. I will also try to pull weeds so that job is done. I want to sew some this afternoon and I'm not sure about tonight. I may go and visit my friend rather than sit at home, watch TV and knit.

Until the next time.............................................................
