And It Rained

Yesterday morning started with a beautiful pink sky and the houses were washed in pink. The pink turned to orange and then to grey. It started to rain shortly after that. It was 13.7C and the high got to 24C with a humidex of 34C. There were gusts wind during the afternoon and about 3" of rain fell during the day. It was warm and humid outside.

Lifestyle

The basics got done yesterday which included one load of laundry. It was so dull and grey it was hard to force oneself to do more than watch the rain fall and the ditch fill with water.

The rain was heavy at times and you could hear it in the house. It was running down the driveways and one wondered what it was like in other areas. The bridge over the Gaspreau River was flooded due to the rain and high tide. Parking lots had lots of water in them.

Two 6 year old girls on our block were out in the rain having a great time catching frogs. They were soaked to the skin but it was so warm out they didn't get cold. They were having so much fun catching the frogs and gently putting them into some pond they built on the driveway. The frogs would escape and they would run around catching them again. They had 3 frogs at one point.

There were 5 new cases of the virus reported yesterday with 60 active cases in the province. It was stated that we won't be moving into Phase 5 of the reopening plan until 75% of the total province has been fully vaccinated.

Sewing

I did no sewing yesterday as it is all hand sewing. I have problems with sewing dark thread on dark fabric in dull conditions. Even with the lights on.

Knitting

I did knit yesterday and it was hard when knitting the dark colors.

I have about 3" of the foot done now and added the 2nd ball of yarn. The yarn color I'm knitting now is navy. It is hard to see the pattern even with a table light on. I may be done these sometime next week.

Today

I am heading into the city today with daughter-in-law. I will get a few things and then head home. I would like to hem at least 1 leg on grandson's pants and do more knitting tonight.

Until the next time...........................................
