I'm Improving Physically

Yesterday started off cloudy and by afternoon it was raining. The high got to 11.9C. This morning it is 5C and probably cloudy. We are to have showers/flurries today with a high of 6C.

Lifestyle

Daughter-in-law was over in the morning for our weekly visit. I do love those visits. After she left, I had breakfast and did yoga. I was only going to do one exercise but did them all. It felt good doing them.

After exercising, I paced myself to put gas in the car, take the lawn chairs from the garage to the shed, and break down and store boxes. I also moved the boxes for the thrift shop. I need to finish filling them and take them to the thrift shop. Once these jobs were completed, I was off to osteopathy.

My session at osteopathy was great. I was relaxed and got a great workout. Twice she had to stop so I could position myself due to being very sore. Once I even lightly bounced on the bed to get things aligned. When done I was so sore I could barely do up the laces on my right shoe. By the time I left the room I had recovered and was walking well.

I went into Sackville and got some items from the dollar store, posted a package to daughter, got some lunch and headed home.

At home, I rested with heat on my hip and knee for quite a while and then went out to pick up my prescriptions. Back home for more heat as it was helping those sore spots relax. I was tired from the session and the heat made me even more tired.

Sewing

I did not sew yesterday as I was tired. It was frustrating as I had hoped to sew the yokes onto the shirt front and back. One thing I did learn was the shirt pattern has 1/4" seam allowances. An important piece of information to have when sewing.

Daughter-in-law has asked me to make a cover for their meat slicer. I found this very interesting video on YouTube. I need to  make a couple of adaptions so I can make it from some fabric I have on hand if I can't find a table cloth.

Knitting

I did knit on the vest and have 8 rows left to go before I cast off the second side of the front. I will then have to do some research on sewing the shoulders together so I can start the neck ribbing.

Thoughts

I had a surprise when I went to pay for my prescriptions. The amount I pay is the same for each one - $2.00. My benefits package through the retired teachers has changed for the better. They also pay 100% of the physiotherapy charge.

The pain I am having is caused by stiff muscles. I tighten the wrong muscles when I walk. I need to focus on using the right muscles.  Yoga is helping strengthen those muscles. Non painful stretches is the key. Physio and osteopathy is really helping also. Flare ups will happen due to the weather. Keeping surgery at bay is the key factor right now. Being referred to the specialist is necessary so we can move forward when the time comes.

Today is the first day being home for several days in a row. It will be nice as I can work on finishing cleaning upstairs and start in the basement. It allows me to plan for more than one day which I like.

Today

The goal today is to tidy up the clean areas of the house so I can do the living room tomorrow. I have garbage to go to the curb this afternoon. I need to do yoga, practice walking, and fold laundry. I have to go to family's today to get the measurements for the meat slicer. I hope to sew the yoke on the shirt and finish knitting the front on the vest.

Until the next time.....................................................
