A Bit More Fabric

Yesterday was a lovely warm day with a high of 26.4C or 79.5F. It looks like it will be warm again today.

Lifestyle

I had full intentions of blogging yesterday but it just didn't happen. We were awakened at about 1:50 a.m. to sirens blaring like crazy. I jumped out of bed and saw smoke from a house on fire one block over from us. It was a hub of activity until 4 a.m. or later. We did fall back asleep after being awake for quite a while. We got up late and were felt somewhat tired all day.
The Spousal Unit has been working outside and is almost finished the front of the house.
Though you can't see the plants very well, they are up and healthy. We have these ones to put in the front along with one more hosta and a hydrangea bush.
The Spousal Unit is now working in the back yard and has started the raised vegetable beds. They are in place and ready to be filled with rocks and dirt. He is now ready to plant a peach tree in the same area. The back still needs more work but it is coming along nicely.

Sewing

The Barb pant pattern is taped together. It was quite a bit of work but well worth the effort. I have the back traced on to tracing paper and ready to do the front and waist band. I am getting excited about cutting them out and sewing them up as a muslin. Maybe I will get a TNT pattern from this pattern.
I bought some fabric for more tops on Thursday night.
This is a chambray that I fell in love with the day it was unpacked. It will make a delightfully cool top for summer.
These are really nice cotton knits for tops. Please note, it all fits in with my navy column. The red will be used in both the navy and black columns as an accent colour.
I also bought 3 patterns for doll clothes. I plan on buying a doll when they come out in late fall. I am not sure what I will do with the doll but at the moment it will be sew and knit for it.
I have a fourth pattern coming some time in the near future. Sewing for the dolls will give me something to do with the scraps from my sewing.

Christmas Once A Month

This has been put on hold as I was working 40 hours a week, in training, and very tired. I do hope to get back to it and start a new project. I really want to make a table runner and place mats. Stay tuned for those.

Today

I am working. I did have the weekend off but due to a co-worker cutting her hand badly, I have to work until Tuesday. Instead of house work and sewing, I get to put a load of laundry on here and there for the next three days.
Until tomorrow.......................

  1. I'm not surprised you fell in love with the Chambray, it's lovely. Have you got a pattern in mind?
