November Mindfullness

October showed me I can make progress when I am pain free. When I have a lot of pain, I make poor choices and do less of the right things. I am changing my focus in November and it may not be what people want to hear.

Eating

I will be focusing on what I eat this month. My goal is to

Eat less processed foods. My shift will continue to be towards fresh and frozen vegetables and fruit.

Portion control to help loose weight.

Seasonings to have flavour not bland.

Making foods to freeze so I can have meals to microwave on nights I don't want to cook.

Exercising

The pain I have is not from the lack of exercising but from standing in one spot too long, over extending, and not thinking of myself.

I will be doing my stretching exercises 2 to 3 times a day to help keep my SI joint in place. It is hard to get it back in once it is stuck out of place. I need to be proactive and do the exercises almost every day.

Continue with osetopathy and physio every 5 weeks to make sure I am aligned and the SI joint is in place.

When volunteering make sure I am not over extending or standing in one position for long periods of time.

Mental Health

I can be very hard on myself. I want to do the best I can and it does take its toll on me. I will beat myself up when that happens. This month I am hoping to work on

Allowing myself to not meet every goal I set. This includes my to-do list. I sometimes try to do too much in a few hours and then feel tell myself I am lazy.

Enjoy my sewing and knitting and not feel guilty if I buy supplies. I have been harsh on myself in that department and I almost stopped both of them due to this.

Learning to say no. It is hard but there are other things I want to do and if I can give lots of notice I will say no. It is hard but once I say no and let go of the guilt I am fine.

There are a few other things I am thinking about and they will take time before they happen. In the meantime, I will focus on what I can do in a day and put what can't be done on the list for the next day.
