Working On Projects.

Yesterday was sunny with a high of 14C. This morning it is sunny and 6C. Today is supposed to be mainly sunny with a high of 18C.

Lifestyle

Yesterday morning I was busy with housework. While the laundry was going, I decided to clean the living room. I dusted and moved all the furniture. The floor was vacuumed and mopped. Everything was put back in place. I was a bit surprised at how little dust was on the floor, even under the couch and chair. I am happy that job is done and will slowly do the rest of the house.

I was outside to take the coverings off the marigolds. There had been no frost. They were looking good after a night under blankets. I will have to cover them again as we could get a frost between now and the 5th of June.

I went into town to get a water filter for the fridge and to book an appointment to have the fridge looked at. I got the filter but the service department is closed Sunday and Monday. I will have to go back in later this week and book the appointment. In the mean time, I changed the filter and notice that the noise is now coming from the freezer. I will defrost it today and see if that helps.

Though I was busy, I didn't have issues with my SI joint. I had some pain due to the muscles being stiff and sore. I am sure the SI joint is stiff and needs to be worked on tomorrow.

Sewing

I did sew yesterday afternoon. I found the dress pattern I wanted for the heart fabric, crossed my fingers in hopes I had enough fabric. I did! I cut out the dress and got the bodice made.

I haven't made this pattern for a long time and I do like it a lot.

Next up was to get the eyes sewn onto the rabbit. I watched the video and started. I was very careful and held my breath a couple of times. I got them on and they look good.

Next up is embroidering the nose and the head will be done.

I also sat and hand stitched more of the lace down on the purple bag. I started down one side and decided that I need to stitch down the brownish pieces across the lace to hold it in place.

This project is going to take a lot longer than I had anticipated but I am okay with that. I am enjoying the quiet time sewing and watching some tv.

Knitting

I got the foot done on the first sock. It is now ready for the toes.

A couple of nights and the second sock will be ready for me to knit the toes. Progress is being made.

I cast on the pink yarn for another doll's sweater. I was able to knit 15 rows on it last night. It is plain knitting as the 5 repeats of the mock cable is the feature.

Thoughts

I was happy that my SI joint didn't go out while cleaning the living room. I was careful not to over extend while vacuuming and mopping. I am wanting to do more in the house plus some more outside and don't need to have SI problems.

I have to laugh at myself. I have kept every one of the ice packs that came in the Chef's Plate boxes. My plan is to use them to water the plants on the deck. I have cancelled my plan for now and may start up again in the fall. I wait and see as I do like the meals but have enough recipes to cook for this summer.

I am enjoying hand stitching the lace on the bag fabric. I have not rushed at it and this bag may not get sewn together until sometime in June. This has been a good activity for me to focus on something that relaxes my mind. I realized how fast I turn off the world when I do this type of sewing.

My yarn has got to Halifax where it is now being transported to Windsor. They say it will be delivered tomorrow. Hopefully as I want to knit on the blue socks next. I have a lot of socks to knit in the next 6 months but I do enjoy making them.

Today

I am going to defrost the fridge today. That means up and own the stairs to the freezer but I will handle that. I will fold laundry and do some cooking. I hope to sew the skirt onto the dress this afternoon and do a bit of hand sewing. I want to knit on the socks and sweater tonight.

Until the next time...........................................................
