A Doll's Dress Is Completed

Yesterday was sunny with a high of 16C. This morning is cloudy and 7C. Today is supposed to be sunny with a high of 23C.

Lifestyle

My plans changed yesterday morning and I went with daughter-in-law to New Minas. Our first stop was at the pool place to get supplies as their pool was opened on Monday. We looked at robot pool cleaners as they are talking of getting one.

Next stop was to get groceries at Walmart. We are doing more shopping there as the prices are lower than the grocery store we shop at. We got what we needed and then headed to the Bulk Barn. We wanted to price butterscotch chips. Almost 75 cents per 100 grams cheaper than Walmart and a lot more than that at the grocery store.

We were home in good time and I got my groceries put away. I sat for a while as I was a bit sore from walking on cement for quite a while. Once that rest was over I slowly started to take good from the big fridge to the little fridge and from the fridge freezer to the downstairs freezer. My goal was to start defrosting the fridge in the late afternoon.

I did start to defrost the fridge and put pots of boiling water into the freezer. The ice I got off the back was thick. I only got about 2/3rds of it off and then turned the fridge back on for the night. It is off now and will defrost on its own until I can deal with it.

Sewing

I finished sewing the doll's dress. I will be making this dress again without the modification I made. It didn't work but it didn't affect the dress.

I don't like to serge the back of the dress opening but you have to with this one. I will be making it again as I love simple dresses on the dolls for summer.

I made 3 dresses out of the heart fabric. There are some scraps left over for the quilting group. Not a lot and not big pieces.

I dug in the Gotz doll's clothes and found a sweater I had made several years ago. I put sweaters on two of the dolls.

The last dress I made will have the pink sweater I am knitting.

Knitting

I did knit last night and got half of the foot knit on the 2nd sock.

Once I got to that point, I then knit on the pink sweater. I am now ready to divide for the sleeves and body.

It looks very plain but once I have the sleeve stitches on waste yarn and the body joined, I will be starting the mock cable. It is the star of this little sweater.

Thoughts

My neighbours got the left over potato salad. The oldest boy brought back the bowl last night and told me it was delicious. He loves it and my devilled eggs. I am glad they enjoyed the leftovers as there was more than we could eat.

I am not sure about my fridge. It frosted up last night after I plugged it in. If it does that after I defrost and clean it, I will be have to get it repaired or replaced. I am hoping repairing it will fix it. The ice maker hasn't frozen up again so I am hoping I got that problem fixed when I replaced the water filter. This is the second fridge for this home since it was built in 2012. Not a good record.

We have a few days of warmer weather and then it will cool off again. I don't enjoy the heat but will get use to it. I love 16 - 18C weather as I can get out and do things. Warmer than that and I start to wilt. Always have been like that.

Today

I have to leave for physical therapy in just over an hour. Once home, I will deal with the fridge and cook dinner from one the of Chef Plates bags. I hope to fold laundry also. This afternoon, I need to tidy up the sewing room as I left a mess and then decide on what to make from the last piece of fabric from March. I want to do some more hand sewing on the purple bag. Tonight I will knit on the socks and the doll's sweater.

Until the next time.......................................................................
