Nearing The End Of Knitting Projects

Yesterday was sunny and hot (for us). The high got to 26C (humidex 29C). This morning it is calm, cloudy, and 14C. Today is supposed to be mainly cloudy with showers and a high of 25C.

Lifestyle

I got the fridge put back together and in its proper spot before I did anything. Then it was on to yoga. I found the exercises were hard as I am stiff. I pushed through them as I knew they would help. There were 2 cracks as both the SI joints released. Towards the end, I started to get muscle cramps. I stopped to rest the muscles and then finished the exercises. It was worth the time to do it. I wasn't as sore yesterday as I have been.

I folded laundry next. After I put my clothes away, I folded the towels I had washed and got them put away. I puttered around a bit while I waited to go to the hospital for blood work. I left at 11:30 am and was home just before 12 noon. It went fast; signing in, registering, having blood drawn, and sitting for a few minutes afterwards. It usually takes an hour or more when I go early in the morning.

I monitored the fridge all day and by dinner time, I put a few items in it. It is cold and working quietly. There is no ice in the back of the freezer drawer. We wait and see what happens with it over the next few days.

Sewing

I spent the afternoon downstairs. The first job was to cut the last of the soft blue and beige print. I spent a lot of time getting a top and skirt cut out but did it. The lining for the top is white broadcloth.

The two small pieces that are left are in the donation pile for charity quilts.

Next I looked for pink embroidery floss for the rabbit's nose. I think it is too light so need to buy a skein for it.

I then sat and did some quiet stitching. I have the first part of the lace hand stitched down.

There is a lot of hand stitching to do but I am looking forward to doing it.

I found a white sweater to put on the doll so all would have white sweaters to wear for this photo.

Knitting

I finished the first sock last night. It didn't take long to do.

I also knit on the doll's sweater and finished the body and one sleeve.

I dug in the yarn and found this bamboo and silk yarn that I will make a sweater for the outfit I just cut out. I want to do it similar to the pink sweater but with a different ribbing idea.

I have found that I enjoy doing some doll knitting in the evening after I knit on the socks.

Thoughts

I turned off the dehumidifier on the heat pump when I went downstairs and when I came back up it was almost 25C on that floor. The downstairs was cool and enjoyable. I put the heat pump back on and cooled the house down. I will have to run it today and then our weather cools off for about 6 days.

I have continued to spray the plants in the front of the house to keep the deer away. It has worked so far. I am hoping it will work this summer so I can have decent looking plants and vegetables. I noticed that some people are using tall metal fencing stakes and chicken wire to protect their plants this year.

Today

I need to do yoga and then I have to go to get one prescription filled. I want to look at plants while I am out. I do want to sew on the outfit this afternoon, do some hand sewing, and knit tonight.

Until the next time...............................................................
