Yesterday was sunny, wind, and warm. The high got to 20C. This morning it is clear and 2C. Today is supposed to be sunny with a north wind and a high of 12C.
Lifestyle
I moved around the house in the morning doing small chores. Laundry was done, the bed made, the table cleaned up, and the kitchen tidied. I was dealing with tired muscles and lack of a good sleep. The up side was I had less pain and didn't take any Tylenol. I did get stiff at times. I also had a couple of cracks as things are still aligning.
I walked over to my friends with a bag of fabric scraps and a few pieces that are about a meter in length. She picked out what she wanted and the rest goes to the quilting group. I admired her wall hanging that she made at a class on Saturday. It is bull rushes, lily pads, and a dragon fly. She had put on the beads. Copper ones on the bull rushes, a mix of turquoise and clear on the dragon fly, and clear on the lily pads. It is stunning and I hope to get a picture of it when it is done.
I did cook a dinner last night. I made a rice bowl which I do like. I will be making it on my own again. Very easy to make. I have one more rice bowl to make tonight and then I will have 3 meals to eat in the fridge for the rest of the week.
Sewing
I was down to the sewing room before lunch and finished up the doll's dress. I had it done by noon.
After lunch, I set to making piping for daughter. I got almost 4 meters made using the left over black and silver stripe fabric I bought in March.
When I finished this little project, I had completed the list I had made to use up as much of the fabric I had bought in March. I may have enough of the doll's jacket fabric to make a skirt and enough of the delicate blue/beige print for a dress. I also have a piece of the heart fabric to make something. My goal is to cut these pieces out and to finish another list in May. I also want to cut out and start a quilt.
Knitting
I knit quite a long time last night. I got 31/42 rows knit on the heel flap.
I did do more than I had set out to do as it was easy knitting. Once I was done that, I knit on the doll's sweater until I got it to the point where I now have to put the sleeve stitches on waste yarn and join the body. Once joined, there is 11 rows to finish the body and less than to knit on each sleeve. It is a relatively fast knit.I am enjoying knitting on the socks for 90 minutes each night and then knitting on something else. I will continue doing this as long as I enjoy it.
Thoughts
The hummingbird tracker shows the hummingbirds have arrived in Nova Scotia. It is just the beginning of their arrival and more will arrive. I am waiting to see the finches as they should be here soon. I am sure there are lots of other birds arriving or are here that I haven't seen. With no leaves fully out on the trees, they are hiding where they feel protected. Soon they will be out where we can see them and they can quickly hide when necessary.
I was quite happy that I finished all the sewing I had put together in my revised list for April. Most were small items which takes time to sew. I did have to push towards the end of the month to get them done. I am hoping that I can do better this month and finish projects throughout the month rather than push at the end of the month.
Today
I am going to shop this morning as I need a few items. If I can, I hope to cut out a couple of items. I may start planting summer garlic and onions in the vegetable beds this afternoon. Tonight I will knit on the socks and doll's sweater.
Until the next time...................................................
