Fun With Grandson

 Yesterday was a mix of sun and clouds with a high of 13C. This morning it is sunny and 6C. Today is supposed to be a mix of sun and clouds with a high of 14C. 

Lifestyle

I had quite the busy morning yesterday. I started off doing the balance sheet and made only one small mistake that I found quickly. I did my tiny bit of statistics and, being happy, I put it all away for another week. 

Next I got the devilled eggs stuffed and the bowl of potato salad finished. I cleaned up the kitchen and set about to do a few other things. 

I cleaned the heat pump head and it was dusty. The filters were washed and I blasted canned air into the head to get rid of any loose dust. I will be having both heads and compressors cleaned next month. I did have a tiny allergy attack but nothing too bad. I kept moving as I put things away and got ready for grandson to arrive.

Grandson was dropped off just after 10:30 am and after a couple of white lies, we went to the shed. He was to move the bags of dirt to a space where I can get at them. I thought I had 3 bags but I have 5. His next job was to put a chair in the car that will be put on the pool deck for summer use.

We talked about his bike in the shed as he should fix the tire and sell it. It is now in the garage so he can do it another day. It was at that point, we went into our "plan". We got into the car to get his mom Mother's Day flowers. Off to the closest grocery store we went. While finding a parking spot, we saw her car and immediately left. Off to the other grocery store we went. He got the flowers and we came back to my place. We loaded the food into my car and I took him home. After unloading the food, he gave his mom the flowers. It was a nice gift. Son was knew about this which helped us a lot. I really enjoyed my time with grandson. 

I had dinner at family's and it was a delightful time. Soccer friends were there and we talked soccer, pets, knitting, and what ever topics we could think of. I left after 8 pm knowing I had to cover the marigolds just in case we had frost. I did that and sprayed the front plants to deter the deer. 

Sewing

I spent time hand sewing the lace on the purple bag I am going to make. The top is basically hand sewn down. I have 3 or 4 flowers to put a couple of stitches into. 

Next is down both sides and the last part is across the bottom. That will take the longest to do. I will work on it when I have time. It isn't a project that needs to be done in a hurry. 

Knitting

I didn't knit last night as it was too late when I got home. 

I did find a cute idea for the next doll's sweater. The designer knit this one using the pattern I just finished. She had for sale on Etsy. It sold very quickly. 

I am thinking of knitting this in pink and making either a skirt or dress to go with it. I love this sweater and how the designer changed it up. 

My yarn from Denmark is in Halifax and should be delivered tomorrow or Wednesday.

Thoughts

     I didn't have to cover the marigolds last night as we had no frost. If I hadn't we would have had frost. I will uncover them this morning. 

    I really enjoyed my time with grandson yesterday. It was fun to be "partners in crime" to get his mom flowers. I do enjoy having him living close to me so we can have opportunities to be together and do things. 

    Though I am relatively pain free in my hip area, I am still cracking joints into place. I keep wondering if it is my back. I do know my SI joint is stiff but it is still in place. I will know more on Wednesday. 

Today

I have a busy morning ahead of me. I have make an appointment for someone to look at the fridge so it can be repaired. I also have laundry to do, uncover the flowers, clean the living room, and make sure I have a few messy spots tidied up. I want to cut out a couple of doll patterns this afternoon and knit tonight.
