Yesterday was sunny and warm with a high of 10C. This morning it is cloudy and 5C. Today is supposed to be cloudy with some drizzle and a high of 18C.
Lifestyle
First and foremost, I slept in this morning so am late blogging. I didn't even hear the alarm go off and woke up with a start.
Yesterday I was busy cleaning. While I had the sheets from my bed in the washer, I started to clean the bathroom. I cleaned and mopped the floors and am happy with that.
Next up was to mop the little hallway and the server area in the dining room. I even cleaned the washer and dryer. Once that area was done, I mopped part of the kitchen floor and washed the window in the door and the outside of the kitchen and bathroom windows. I had the vacuum cleaner going trying to get the floors done (failed but got quite a bit done).
I had the living room and my bedroom window open for the afternoon. The house smells so much fresher. The weather was perfect and hope to open them again today and tomorrow.
I cooked the last meal from this week's Chef's Plate. It was pork chops, roasted peppers, couscous with raisins, and spinach. I did not like the couscous as it was dry. I would do rice instead if I decide to make it again.
Sewing
I went down to the sewing room and starched the fabric for the doll's quilt. It was hung on the drying rack in the bathtub ready to be pressed today.
I also sorted the charm pack into lights and darks. I now need to count the two piles to make sure they are even. Next job will be to draw a diagonal line on the light ones and sew them to make half triangle squares.
I also cut the last piece of Brittany spaniel fabric to make a bag. It is the front piece. I now need to measure it and make a list of what I need to buy for it.
Knitting
I picked up the vest and knit the 7 rows of ribbing on the armhole. It didn't take long.
I am now ready to sew up the side seams.Thoughts
My heart goes out to those people in the US who have been hit by storms, high winds, and fires. I was shocked when I saw the reels showing the devastation and do hope that people are safe. I wonder how many northern states got snow as daughter said they had snow in BC yesterday afternoon. We have burning restrictions as it is dry here.
I did a bit of work on the family tree yesterday morning when I had bits of time where I had to wait for floors to dry. No good stories came up though I did find a picture of one of my great grand uncle. It was him, his wife and his daughters. The three sons weren't in it which was sad.
I am adapting without Elliott though I did look twice for him yesterday. I miss our special times during the day but remind myself he is with the Spousal Unit. I still do not want another cat at this time. Probably won't even though people think I should.
Today
I need to do the balance sheet first thing and then get my bedroom cleaned. I want to press the fabrics for the doll's quilt and cut out the pieces ready for the retreat. If I have time, I will work on the charm pack drawing lines on the light pieces. I need to look at the video to see what I need to do. Tonight I hope to start sewing the side seams on the vest. Another day at home getting many things done.
Until the next time...................................................................
