Yesterday was sunny with a high of -4C (windchill -9C). This morning it is snowing and -11C (windchill -19C). Today is suppose to be mainly cloudy with flurries with a high of -8C (windchill -19C).
Lifestyle
Yesterday morning I got a load of laundry on and started to clean the living room. I did get the floors vacuumed and mopped but didn't finish up as I went to the quilt store near here with my friend.
We had a great trip to the quilt store. There is more snow up there than here -- they have about an inch on the ground. I snooped around the store for an hour and bought some interfacing and some temporary basting spray. I needed both.
I made a delicious pot of chicken rice soup for lunch. I added Italian spice and summer savoury which gave it good flavour. I am starting to use more spices/herbs to give my food flavour. I am making another small pot today as it is cold outside.
We had flurries in the evening and I was surprised to see snow this morning. Not a lot but enough I have to shovel the driveway this morning.
Sewing
I did not sort my books yesterday as I am not sure which ones I want to let go of. I should let most go as I do not look at them. I had let go of a lot 3 years ago and it is time to review them once again. That and patterns, which is today's challenge.
I cut out and finished a square hot pad. This one is 10" square.
I have half of the binding sewn down on the large hot pad.
The two hot pads used 3 strips of binding with about 9" left over. I have enough fabric to make 2 mug rugs and will see what I have left to make into something else. If not enough, the left over fabric will be put into the donation bag for charity quilts.
I am working hard at cleaning up the sewing room at the end of each day. I did not put away my hand sewing as I will finish it today. But it is neat and tidy on the coffee table.
Knitting
Though I was tired last night, I did knit 5 rows on the ribbing for the vest. Eight more rows and I will start the cables.
Thoughts
I enjoyed my outing yesterday. The owner of the shop told me that the price of interfacing will be going up as one company has declared bankruptcy. She heard it from a sales person but not from the supplier of the interfacing. I did some research and what she was told is partly true. I did buy 4 meters which I know I will use up quickly.
My hip still has one sore spot which could be the periformis acting up. I am much better than I was and am hoping that I can start painting after I see the osteopathy therapist. I am starting to do more each day and most nights I have popping of the SI joint as it is still seating itself.
I ate very carefully yesterday and stayed within my points. I was hungry and wanted to snack last night but refrained. I need to get the excess weight off for my hip. I have set a goal of 15 -20 lbs. I will evaluate when I get to 15 lbs.
Today
My big job is to shovel snow this morning. I will see what energy I have left after the job is done. I will do a few things in the kitchen as I need to make soup and prep for dinner. This afternoon I want to finish the large hot pad and cut out the pieces for the 2 mug rugs. I will look at the books and find a box for the ones I will let go of. Tonight I hope to knit. A stay at home day for me.
Until the next time........................................................
