It Snowed - I Shovelled

 Yesterday was, well, snowy. The high got to 3C. This morning it is partly cloudy and -2C. Today is suppose to be a mix of sun and cloud with a high of -1C.

Lifestyle

With it snowing good outside, I decided to make cookies. I had more issues than not. I could not find my small packet of ginger and had to go to the grocery store for more. The cookies got made and I have another batch to make another day. 

The laundry got folded and put away but I didn't get any more laundry done. I'm not behind but I'm not ahead in that department. I fiddled around until I got the Cowboy Channel on my computer and then onto the TV. It took time but I got it done. 

My trip to the grocery store was a bit slow due to the snow. The roads up here weren't cleared. The main road was which was nice. It wasn't bad, it was just my first trip with snow stuck to the road. After lunch, I had an hour to shovel snow. I did the front step and short walkway. The snow was wet and heavy so I put my boots on and went for it. I was the only person out shovelling my driveway so knew I was on the idiot list. Oh well, it's not the first time and it won't be the last. I shovelled away making sure I was turned to the right so I wouldn't tip my hip forward. Awkward to say the least. But I persisted. 

I was almost done when the snow plow truck came down our road. He pushed snow into the entrance of the driveway. He left to do the other road up here so I tackled the roll of snow. I pushed it all out and did a piece of the road. I went back to cleaning the driveway so I could get it done. The truck returned much to my surprise. Down the road he went pushing snow into driveways as he widened the road. Up he came on my side of the road. When he got almost to my driveway, he pushed the snow into the ditch, lifted the blade, skipped my driveway, and finished up. I waved thank you, and finished up. I was done and tired 

Time to do the driveway was 45 minutes. Not too bad for the first time. I was wet from the snow/rain but happy. I had lots of fresh air and exercise. 

The reason I got the Cowboy Channel up and running was to watch the Miss Rodeo America (MRA) crowning. Daughter and I usually watch it and text each other. We pick who we think will win. Usually different. Both made it to the top 10. Mine made it to the top 5. We chose again. Neither of us was right. The person who won was a surprise. She won appearance but must have scored very high in all the categories to win. I am sure she will do a good job of representing the western way of life. 

I did some yoga on the bed last night and had muscles in the back of both legs cramp. I gave them a good rub and continued on. I will be doing yoga daily as it does help a lot. I have less pain today. 

Sewing

The fabric is folded and ready for me to press. I will get at it this week. 

I got the Pelican Tote pattern, Marianna, and will be reading the instructions. I will have to buy zippers for when I make it. Thanks for tip. 

Knitting

I did 16 more rows on the vest and am half done to where I cast off for under the arms. 

It is really starting to look gorgeous in the navy. 

Thoughts

    I weighed myself this morning and didn't loose any weight. It will come off and I am ready to continue on with my healthy eating plan. I am feeling better each day by eating properly. 

    I connected with a person on Facebook yesterday. She is the youngest sister of two ladies I went to school with. One is older than me and the other was one of my bridesmaids. We are the same age and went to university together. We talked about all her siblings. I had forgot about one brother who lived close to us when we lived in Ashcroft. It was a lovely talk which I enjoyed a lot. I have reached out to the one sister whom I went to university with. 

    My driveway and sidewalk look icy so I have to buy ice salt so I can sprinkle it on them today. I have my Chef's Plate box arriving today and don't want any one slipping on the ice. According to the weather forecast, all the ice will be gone tomorrow as it is suppose to rain but I want to be super careful in the mean time. 

Today

I am out to get the pneumonia vaccine this morning. Then I will go get groceries, take care of the driveway, and hopefully decorate the upstairs. I do need to vacuum also. I don't think I will be sewing today but hopefully will knit tonight.
