Yesterday was a mix of sun and clouds with a high of -1.5C. This morning it is snowing lightly and -4C. Today is suppose to be snow, frozen pellets, freezing rain, and rain with a high of 1C.
Lifestyle
I was out the door to the shed yesterday morning to get the salt. The snow had a good layer of ice on it. The driveway was one thick sheet of ice. I used up the bag to start the melting process. I didn't have a lot of salt but it was enough for round one.
I got my pneumonia vaccine. The doctor's office was empty and the nurse wasn't in. The doctor gave it to me and told me to be careful when outside. He wants me to be active but not to fall. He is happy that I am being independent and doing what I can to keep my driveway safe. He knows I take breaks and carry my phone with me.
I got groceries and a bag of salt for the driveway. Before putting the groceries away I put more salt on the driveway. With the sun shining, I was seeing results. After putting the groceries away, I scraped the driveway. What a lot of work as it had a good 1/2 - 3/4" on it. I got 85% of the ice removed and salted down the patches that were left.
I had a short nap after lunch as I was tired from the vaccine and scraping the ice. Once done the nap, I got the Christmas tub up and finished decorating. I used all the twinkle lights I had and love how things look. I normally fight with one strand of lights but this year they cooperated. I also put less ornaments into the dish.
The other twinkle lights are nicer to work with and I put them around the cardinal decorations.
I also did the nativity scene which I didn't take a picture of. A couple of other decorations were set out and I was done. And so was the afternoon.
Sewing
None done as I had so much to do yesterday. Hopefully today I can start cutting out the bag.
Knitting
I knit 16 more rows last night. I have 5 more repeats to do (40 rows) to the underarms. No picture as it looks the same as before only longer.
Thoughts
The ambulance went out of the area behind us with its sirens going. I am hoping that it wasn't too serious but my first thought was heart attack. Fingers crossed that the person will be home for Christmas.
I am on day 5 of eating healthy. I have noticed a couple of things happening. I am having less joint pain as I am not eating refined sugar or chocolate. I have eliminated all trigger foods from my diet and I think it is helping. I also notice that I have more energy even though I am eating less. With all of this happening, I have lost 2.4 lbs and am happy with that also. I will be talking to the dietician when I see her again about my trigger foods and how I am healthier and happy when I don't have them in the house. They actually make me stressed and unhappy.
I did yoga on the bed last night. I am noticing that when I do some of the moves I tighten muscles so am working at making them relax when I am in the position I need to be in. I did have one small cramp but worked it out quickly. I will continue doing yoga as I feel it is helping me.
My Chef's Plate box arrived and I am excited to try the recipes this week. I have read the recipes and will be cutting back on the oil used and will steam the vegetables rather than roast them. I know I will be making the recipes again once I cancel the subscription. I will reorder later on as I do like the meals.
Today
I will be staying home today as the weather is going to be awful. I want to do some laundry and vacuuming. I need to mop some floors. I hope to cut out the bag today and get it ready to start quilting tomorrow. I want to do a bit of work on the memory book as I haven't looked at it. Tonight I will knit.
Until the next time..........................................................
If you've never roasted vegetables before they really do taste much better than steamed in my opinion!
