Large Hot Pad Almost Completed

Yesterday was a mix of sun and clouds with a high of 3C. This morning it is cloudy and -5C (windchill -11C). Today is supposed to be a mix of sun and clouds with a high of -4C (windchill -8C). We are going to cool off again.

Lifestyle

I was out the door to help shovel my driveway. We had about 5" of wet snow to get rid of. My neighbour and his youngest boy did a lot of the heavy work. I did what I could to help them out.

Once that was done, I was off to the community hall to help make sandwiches. We had to go in and out the front door as a lady fell on the stairs into the kitchen on Wednesday night and required stitches in her head. We got the job done and I was home just after 9:30 am.

I puttered around for a while and had a short nap as I was tired. Then it was out to scrape the last of the ice off the driveway. There wasn't a lot but I got it cleaned off. By late afternoon the driveway was completely bare and almost dry.

I spent some time on the phone talking to FedEx as I had a parcel out for delivery and it had the wrong address on it. I then had to phone the company I had bought the item from and get them to change the address so it can be delivered next week. I had given them the right address and they didn't put in the last number for the house address. I will be emailing them every day until this is fixed. And calling them every day to make sure they hear my voice and hate me.

I slept horribly last night. I seemed to cat nap most of the night with lots of short waking times. I also dreamed a lot during the night and was restless. I woke up about 2 am freezing cold, went to the bathroom and heated up the magic bag. I repeated the process at 4 am though I wasn't nearly as cold as the first time. I know My body is really fighting this cold virus. It as it has given me sinus headaches, tiredness, and fevers.

Sewing

I worked on the large hot pad yesterday. The binding was made, sewn on, and most of it hand sewn down.

I hope to finish it today and get it put away.

Knitting

I knit on the vest last night and got the neckband done.

Thoughts

I am grateful for my neighbours who help me shovel the driveway. We will be at it again tomorrow morning as we are to get 3-5" in the next storm. It is to arrive tomorrow morning.

I am not as far along with this cold as I had thought I was. I still have a few days to go before I will start the recovery stage. I am still trying to figure out where I got it from. I may never know. My goal is to stay hydrated, rest, and try to get some good night's sleep over the next few days.

Today

I have to finish the pot of soup and get the meals frozen. I also have to work on making a couple of turkey dinners. If I can, I will finish hand sewing the binding down on the large hot pad. I may pick up stitches for the first armband on the vest. It all depends on how I feel. Anything else I do today is going to be a bonus. My main goal is to stay hydrated and rest as much as possible.

Until the next time.................................................................
