A Day Of Rest and Thoughts

 Yesterday was a sunny day with a high of about 21C. This morning it is sunny and 17C. Today is supposed to be sunny with a high of 25C. 

Yesterday was a rest day and we did a lot of laundry which we hung out to dry. We also cleaned up the apartment. which wasn't too dirty.

It was also a day to think and observe. 

    The wind does not blow in the early mornings but picks up during the day. The wind coming off the water is cool which is nice. 

    There were a lot of people on the beach near our apartment. Some were swimming, others were sun bathing, and a lot of people were out walking in the sand. I didn't see anyone playing beach volleyball but it could have happened. 

    The apartment is staying cool during the warm part of the day. There are inside blinds to close when the sun is shining. There are metal shutters that you pull up and down to add darkness when you need it. I am sure they will be great to have down when it gets hot. 

    The apartment we are in is older. The windows are not sealed so we feel the wind coming in during storms. The owner has done some updates in the apartment. The building is 10 floor high and each floor has 2 apartments. 

    We do not know what some things are here but we make up our own ideas as to what they are. At the stadium where grandson played are three round "things" in three different colours. We call them the Hagen Das containers. No idea what they are. 

    The cost of living in Montevideo is higher than living in a smaller community. Food prices in the grocery stores are high which is why people shop at farmer's markets. Eating at restaurants is a bit higher priced than some restaurants at home but the food at them is delicious. A lot depends on the lifestyle you want. One thing I noticed is that plans for your cell phone are cheaper than the one I have in Canada. The plan I have here is $10.00 a month while my plan at home is almost 9 times that. 

We are going to be out and about some today. Not sure where we are going yet as we have not talked about it. It is a nice day and we do need to be outside doing something.
