Yesterday was hot and humid. The high got to 32C (humidex 40C). This morning it is humid and 20C. Today is supposed to be sunny and hot. The high is to get to 31C (humidex 40C).
Lifestyle
Yesterday morning I spent time yesterday watering the plants on the deck. They are drinking up the water like crazy in this hot weather. I watered them again last night and ran the sprinkler on the vegetable boxes. The tomatoes are growing rapidly in the boxes. The plants on the deck are becoming a jungle they are so huge.
I did do a small grocery shopping after I had watered the plants. It wasn't very busy at the grocery store so I didn't take long to get the things I needed and get home. I put away everything, had something to drink and then started cleaning up from the trip. Everything was done by noon.
I was tired and wanted to have a nap when I realized the humid air is full of pollen and I was having a small allergy attack. I pushed on knowing it will disappear if it rains.
Sewing
I spent the afternoon in the sewing room working on the quilt. I got the border on the last 8 squares. I then sewed 4 of the squares onto the 4 large plain squares I had cut out and then put them onto 4 rows. Half of the quilt is 80" wide.
I can now sew those 4 rows together and have it completed. Then I have to wait for the fabric I ordered to arrive so I can complete the other half.Knitting
I knit on the socks last night and completed the leg on sock #2.
I will be starting the heel flap tonight. I will have these socks done before the end of July.Thoughts
An interesting fact that I found when looking at my pictures. Though PEI hosted the talks for confederation, PEI did not join Canada until 4 years later. The four provinces that joined were Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. I probably learned that in school and forgot about it.
Knitty Natty posted her video on their trip to PEI while we were visiting the island. She visits some great yarn shops and the business that makes equipment that is used to process the wool into yarn. They visited Anne of Green Gables. It is way more commercialize than when I was there in the early 1990's. She shows some of the great landscape in PEI.
The humidity is already unbearable this morning. The humidex was in place at 7 am which means a nasty day. It is supposed to be the last day of this heat wave which could end in a thunderstorm.
Today
I have the fridge repair technician and the roofer coming this morning. I want to fertilize the plants as I am sure they need it. I hope to sew this afternoon and knit tonight.
Until the next time...............................................................................
