Yesterday was sunny with a high of 9C. This morning it is snowing and 0C. Today is supposed to have flurries or showers with a high of 4C.
Lifestyle
You read correctly. It snowed starting late last night. The ground is covered with snow. You can't see the lawns. The roads are bare which is great. Here is a web cam picture of what the road looks like not far from us.
My Chef's Plate box arrived at 8 am yesterday morning. It was missed on Tuesday's delivery and left in the cooler at the depot. Everything was cold and in good condition. I made one of the recipes last night and was fine. I did freeze the rest of the meat as soon as I had inspected the meal bags.I had to do some research on selling at craft bazaars and if I have to claim what I make. As I do what they call a hobby and sew for enjoyment or recreation and sell items occasionally I am fine. If I was promoting what I made by advertising, had an Etsy or other shop, and had a side income (called side hustling) I would have to report the income plus the expenses. I am ready to do a couple of craft shows this fall.
I was out in the afternoon to visit my friend, to pick up her wagon, extension, cord, and a small cutting mat for the retreat. We had a good discussion about sewing as a hobby and as a side hustle. She is the latter which we call a cottage industry. We know of several of them in our area. She also said that as long as you have to give a receipt, you have to claim it as income.
Sewing
I was down in the sewing room and got everything packed but my sewing machine. I did cut out a small bag that I can make if I have time. It has no interfacing so it was quick and easy to do.
I also swept the sewing room floor and did a bit of a clean up. The floor was full of dust, thread. and lint from all the sewing and cutting I do. It is nice to have it cleaned up once again.
I have not thought about what I will sew in April. I need to see what I have for the craft bazaar and decide from there. I do want to make a dress for the dolls and would like to prep for a quilt. I did look at the stash and I have a lot of Christmas fabrics I need to sew up and no idea of what to make from them.
Knitting
I finished the leg of the first sock last night. I did 30 rounds on it. I was amazed at how fast it went.
I will cast on the 2nd sock and knit it to this stage so I can have both of the socks going at the same time.Thoughts
We knew the snow was coming and knew we could get up to 20 cm or 9 inches. I don't think we did but we got more than enough for the end of March. Everyone is hoping this is it for this year. It has been a long winter for us. I just noticed that we had way more snow (18") than this on March 23, 2018. I'm not complaining about this snow storm.
I am ready for the sewing retreat and will load the car tonight. I am nervous but excited to go and enjoy myself. I am packing my lunch so I can eat alone for some down time. I am also coming home for dinner and the night. I need the time alone as I will be tired from all the noise and activity.
My hip didn't hurt very much yesterday. My knees throbbed due to the storm coming in. I will have the physiotherapist check the SI joint on Monday to make sure it is properly seated. She will have to check the usual muscles as they are tight from the SI joint being out.
Today
I have to pick up a few items off the floor as Rosie will be vacuuming the whole house today. I have to get ready to drive into the city to pick up daughter-in-law. We are shopping while her car is being ceramic coated. Once home, I need to cook a meal and pack the car. If I have any energy left, I want to cast on and start sock #2.
Until the next time..........................................................................
