A Busy Halloween

 Yesterday was a mix of heavy rain and mixed clouds. The high got to 17C. This morning it is cloudy and 9C. Today is supposed to be cloudy with a high of 10C. 

Lifestyle

Yesterday morning I was at the community hall to help set it. up for a dinner tonight. Four of us set up the tables, put out the chairs, and get the tables set for dinner. Part way through, my SI joint tightened up and I was in pain. I laid on the stage, stretched and got it to release. My muscles were sore but the SI joint was fine. 

Once home, I sat on heat trying to get the soreness out of the muscles. Did not happen due to the fact they were responding to the weather. We had 5 hours of rain due to two weather systems meeting over us. The barometric pressure dropped low which was why my muscles were sore. We had an inch of rain fall which I found on a stats page. We are to get more rain Monday night and Tuesday. 

The temperature was very warm and the sun shone starting about 4 pm. We sat outside for Halloween soaking up the sun and warm.  We moved into the garage around 6 pm. The wind turned cool as the sun went down. 

I thought the number of people out for Halloween was down but one family handed out 300 treat bags. It started out slow, picked up, slowed down, and picked up with a burst of people at 7:30 pm. We ran out of candy. We cleaned up and daughter-in-law left. Our street was quiet after that. 

Sewing

None done yesterday. 

Knitting

I did knit yesterday. I started the vest again using some Paton's sock yarn I had in the stash. I got about 15 rows done. 

Thoughts

    The storm wasn't as bad as they had predicted. No thunder or lightning. The rain fell steadily but not in torrents like we have seen in the past. The wind was gusty and did toss stuff around. When the storm passed, we did have wind but not as strong as they had predicted. 

    We met our new neighbours last night. They are a lovely family who will be welcoming a new baby in late November. We went over to meet one of the grandmothers who lives in the Crossing. She is a lovely person also. 

    We decorated simply this year and learned that we don't need to do a lot. The little flashing lights, a couple of banners, and we can call it done. Our street wasn't blocked off this year and people were very good not to park on our street. I am thinking that we are not allowed to do that any more as the RCMP were here. They drove down our street very slowly. The Amazon van made its appearance but we didn't have the pizza delivery car this year. 

Today

I have a few Halloween things to put away this morning and then do some tidying up. I have to be out this afternoon and evening to help make the dinner at the hall. I will probably get home around 8 pm and will sit quietly and rest before I go to bed. I have to be back at the hall at 8 am to make sandwiches.
