On The Road To The Living

Yesterday's high got to 24C and we had some rain. That equalled walking out into a steam bath. This morning it is 21C so we are in for more showers and that steam bath effect again. 

Lifestyle

We had a lawn specialist come and spray our lawn for cinch bugs and put on a liquid fertilizer. Cinch bugs are throughout the province and they are very active during hot dry weather. Our lawn is a testament to that. What is so amazing, its only our lawn on the street that has cinch bug damage. It has been prone to them in the past. We saw the records. 
I was to the doctor's yesterday and he said my thyroid was in the normal range. My TSH number was 1.48 which is way to high for me. I function the best between .5 and .8. I got my medication increased. My blood pressure was up so that medication was increased also. Now I can get back on track in the world of the living. 

Marshmallow Mood Board

I have been looking for a mood board that shows the colors I want in our house. This is it. It fits in with what I want to do. 

Sewing

With my thyroid under functioning, I have spent little time in the sewing room. I now have to start preparing it for its makeover. I look at the room and cringe at its size. I'm learning to break it down into more manageable blocks. Ceiling, walls, trim. I'm expecting it will take me a week. 
While I am doing the painting, I do hope that I can sew a bit. I want to

• test a doll's pattern. That means a lot of pieces need to be cut out and sewn
• make fall pillows and table runners for upstairs. 

Crafts

Now that I have decided to do some crafts, I will keep them separated from sewing and lifestyle. I would love to block an hour off daily to do crafts. My goal is to have 4 different seasonal looks for the house. We start with fall. 

I worked on the first fall wall hanging. It is in development mode and I do hope to glue down the leaves today. 

There is a bit of tweaking to be done as it isn't perfect. I'll show you the how to when I start the second canvas. 
The left over leaves will be decoupaged onto quart canning jars for solar lamps on the front porch. There will be enough leaves for 2 jars when I get the second wall hanging done. 
I also want to do 3 or 4 quart jars that will be on the walk way to the front door. They will be weighted and solar powered. These will be out except for the snowy weather. 

Today

I am heading out to shop. There is a few things I need to buy as we have been living on the edge of despair lately in the grocery department.
