Progress On Luna Lapin

Yesterday was cloudy and wet. We had several good showers go through. The high got to 12C. This morning the fog has lifted and it is clear and 8C. Today is supposed to be sunny with a high of 16C.

Lifestyle

Yesterday morning I did the balance sheet with no problems. I paid the bills. I did extremely well with a low spend month. The upside is that I put money away but the down side is that I don't go out and feel a bit isolated at times. I need to find a balance.

I laundered the sheets yesterday and when I made the bed, I put the quilt away. I did put an extra blanket on the bed to keep warm. What I did miss was the extra weight of the quilt. I did sleep well though and was warm enough.

I did do some housework but find I am tired. I even had a nap after lunch. I think that I need my Synthroid dose increased. I know the tiredness wasn't from pain as my pain level was low. I did keep moving even if it was to walk around the house and do small chores. I know my pain is from my SI joint being stiff. Physio will help that as will my exercises.

Sewing

I did sew yesterday and got the rabbit's head made. It was a slow sew so make sure I got the curves smooth. I stuffed her and played with eyes. I was going to embroider her eyes but decided on buttons. She will never be handled by a child. I pinned the buttons on and she looks like an alien.

I may go and see if I have navy blue buttons that size for the eyes. Yesterday was sewing and the first try on eyes. I think the black ones are a bit harsh but I will use them if I can't find two small navy ones. Overall, I am pleased with how she is turning out.

I did look in the book I had gotten for Christmas and I am going to make her winter dress. I am hoping that I have enough Nova Scotia plaid for it.

Knitting

I did look for buttons for the green sweater and I have to buy them.

I knit on the socks last night. Both socks have the gusset stitches picked up and sock #1 has 15 rounds knit on it.

Daughter-in-law looked at the lost and found where I had started another pair of socks to see if the missing ball of yarn was there. It wasn't. I ordered a ball to replace it plus two more in a teal colour. I should have the yarn in the next week to 10 days (from Denmark). The cost for the 3 balls (150 grams) plus shipping is just a bit more than a 100 gram ball of yarn I buy locally. I will continue to support the local artists as I do love their yarn.

Thoughts

I am starting to relax a bit about the economic situation in the world. I understand we could, and probably will, have a recession. It is out of my control but I can prepare myself for one through careful spending. I am also gaining a better understanding of the political climate of the world and understand more why things are happening. It is also out of my control and I know more than I did a month ago.

I have decided that May will be a low spend month though not as low as April. Though I want to continue sewing up the fabric I have, I know I need a few things so I can do some creative sewing. I will knit up the yarn I have as I have lots. But I do knit lots. I still have to decide on what I will buy for the garden as the time is coming to make those decisions. Flowers, vegetables, deer deterrent and lawn maintenance is in the budget for the next few months.

I had hoped to starch the fabrics for the quilt. I may have to do it today or tomorrow and then finish drying them in the bath tub. We have a lot of showers until Sunday.

Today

I am out to make sandwiches at the community hall shortly and when home I will have to decide on what I need to do and then see if I can starch the fabric. I want to sew this afternoon and then knit tonight. I am not planning on going anywhere today.

Until the next time.............................................................
