Ready To Start New Sewing Projects (Updated)

 Yesterday was mainly cloudy with a high of 17C. This morning it is cloudy, damp, and 9C. Today is supposed to have rain and a high of 17C. 

Lifestyle

Yesterday I was out to the community hall to make sandwiches. We had to make 18 loaves this time and it took us about 2 hours to do. I cut the sandwiches and put them on trays. I enjoy that job as I spend time making the trays look nice. But, it is hard on my SI joints as I stand still for quite a while before I move. Yesterday was no exception. After we were done, I did a big stretch at the counter to see if it would help. I swept the floor and by the time I was done, it had helped. 

Once home, I sat with heat on my SI joints to make sure they were okay. I had something to drink and knit for a bit. Once I was sure I was fine, I was out the door to pick up my prescription and get some groceries. Tomorrow all the stores are closed as it is Victoria Day. I was home by noon. 

I did do a bit of housework and cooked the last Chef's Plate dinner in the afternoon. I also tried a new exercise I saw on Youtube. It seems to help some and I can do it anywhere. Just stop and do it. I can't find the video but I did try it while watching it. 

Sewing

I sewed the snaps on the last doll's outfit I made. It took me the longest time to get 6 snaps on. I put one on 4 times to get it lined up. I am not sure why I had so many problems this time when I had no issues on the other projects I made for the dolls. 

I was really tired when I got done. 

I then spent some time quietly hand sewing leaves down on the next part of the lace. I didn't get a lot done but I it is progress. It was time to go upstairs and make dinner. 

Knitting

I sewed the buttons on the pink sweater in the morning. 

I tried it on with the dress and I like it. 

I knit on the blue socks and got half of the heel flap done. I enjoy knitting soft yarn. 

Once the heel flap is done, I will turn the heel and then start the other sock using this ball of yarn. The ball of yarn I bought is a different dye lot and I will use it for the rest of the sock. No one will see it as it is the part inside the shoe. And I don't really care if someone sees it as these socks are for me. 

I also knit on the doll's sweater. I am ready to start the pattern on the bottom part of the sweater. 

I am going to order a coat pattern to knit for the dolls. It is next on the to do list. I am enjoying knitting socks for most of the evening and ending with knitting for the dolls. 

Thoughts

    I have been monitoring my fridge since defrosting it for 24 hours. No ice formation in the bottom freezer and the fridge has been staying at the same temperature each time I check it. There have been no noises. I won't be getting it checked unless the problem arises again. 

    When I went out last night to spray the plants against the deer, I could smell the spray on the plants. My poor bush is improving in appearance and I want it to have a chance to grow again without being eaten. I will have to spray it tonight as it rained last night. 

    I have decided to start putting out containers for both vegetables and flowers. I do not know when the house will be power washed and I can't wait any longer to plant items. I will have to get the person to help me move the plants when he comes. I need to get things done so my place looks nice this summer. 

    I am happy that I met my goal of sewing down the fabric I bought in March. It is done except for the piece I am hand sewing lace onto. I now need to sew up the remaining fabric I have bought this year. That will be 2.35 meters. Then I will be looking at the fabric daughter gave me for Christmas. I am slowly trying to sew down the stash. I am doing the same with the yarn I have. Knit socks and a doll's project most night. It is working for me at this time. 

Today

I have to do yoga this morning and then the balance sheet. Then it will be cleaning the bathroom. I would like to sew this afternoon and knit tonight. It is going to be too wet to work outside today unless the sun comes out this afternoon. It is going to be a quiet day for me.
