Yokes On

Family Literacy Week is over in our community for another year. I enjoyed it but I certainly was tired. By 8:30 p.m., I was nodding off in my chair.

The yellow shirt got a bit more done on it than planned. The yokes are done, piping was basted on and it was put onto the shirt. Ready for the button band and collar.

Yes, the back of the shirt looks like the one on the dress form in the back.

I didn’t change the thread on my serger. I didn’t need it and forged ahead on the shirt. I might get that small job done today if I have time.

Today is house cleaning day. I need to dust, sweep floors, and tidy up a bit. If time, mop floors also. I will also hand sew appliques onto a top during my breaks. I have half of the front done and hope to finish it up this week.

Tomorrow I am heading into the city to get some things that are needed for us and the family literacy groups we support.

Until tomorrow…………………

looks like another masterpiece in the making. I have re-subscribed to Sandra Betzina's PowerSewing. I recently just watch Ron do these yokes, and he came up with some good tips too.
