We are heading into the city today to get more items for the renovation and some groceries. If all goes well, I might make it out to Fabricland to get a spool of embroidery thread. If not, I will get it Friday prior to my appointments.
Sewing went well, after I helped the Spousal Unit. We hauled in gyproc (gypsum board) into the basement. I got the front button band and collar onto the yellow shirt prior to heading out for an hour.
I do love yellow with purple accents and I can’t wear yellow. Maybe I will have to look at purple with yellow accents.
In my spare time, I am hand stitching the cut out lace onto a top. There was a lot to do; front, back, sleeves. I have one sleeve left to do.
The bottom of the sleeve is pinned but you can see pieces sticking out where they aren’t pinned down. I will do a prick stitch around the outside edge. I do some on the inside if the piece is large in size. It helps stabilize it.
Here you can see how it laying funny s it is only pinned here and there to contain it. I estimate it will take 3 to 4 hours to do this sleeve. I watch TV and visit with the Spousal Unit while I do it.
In the morning, I cleaned up the living room. It wasn’t a declutter but just dusting, putting a few things away, and washing the floor. There was a fair amount of dust due to the renovation going on in the basement. Next is the front entrance and our bedroom.
On the decluttering front. Recipes are to be looked at in February. I have my cookbooks pared right down to the ones I want. They are in the cupboard above the microwave. I use my iPad for those I find on line. I have thought about printing out the ones we like the most, put them in sheet protectors and put into a binder to haul out when I cook. I might do that over the next several month. I won’t rush at it.
The next decluttering project is meal planning. We are trying to move away from “What shall we have this tonight" at the breakfast table to knowing what is on the menu for 7 to 14 days. My mom was a wonderful meal planner and I am not. Plain and simple.
Lastly, for the month is the grocery price book. I will do one to have on hand to help us track our prices. This one could be fun or very painful.
Yes, the fabric above looks like it will be the next shirt I make for my client. A rusty red with crosses on it.
Until tomorrow………………….

You continue to amaze me with all your energy to get so many things done. You're like the Energizer Bunny!
yup, pre-planning the menu saves time and having it in meal size portions in the freezer even more. I can't really wear yellow and can't wear purple either but I do love that shirt.
