I worked some more in the spare bedroom and have the literacy materials in two boxes. I tossed some useless items and have to put the clippings into the album. Nothing fancy but it has to be done. I also got our budget up to date.
After lunch, I sewed for a couple of hours on the brocade shirt. The collar is done and I pin fitted it onto the dress form.
The fabric is so shiny that you can’t see the crystals but they are there.
As I walk around the sewing room and look at this shirt, it twinkles. The colour of crystals is silk (a perfect match to the yellow in the brocade). I added some Colorado light to the mix and you can see the difference but I am not sure.
They are the darker dots on flowers in the above picture. I am going to wait and see until after I put the silk onto the sleeves. I am hoping that I won’t have to order more crystals. That is today’s job along with a meeting on literacy.
Gwen, I wish I could send you some of my energy. I am full of it now that I have my light therapy lamp. Cleaning out 28 years of stuff is a big job. We have moved 4 times in the past 15 years and still had a lot of stuff we didn’t need make that last trip. I took lots to the thrift shop when we moved down here but it wasn’t enough. Now that we are doing the purge and decluttering it has been wonderful. Unfortunately it isn’t an overnight job. I wish I lived close enough to come and help you out.
Until Sunday as we are heading out tomorrow early to another community for a day of shopping and snooping……………………….

Just love the look of this shirt! And I agree, clearing out is a huge task. Currently I am sorting (and resorting) all of my teaching gear, collected since 1981!!!!!
Beautiful brocade. I am in love with this shirt already.
Enjoy your continued purging and decluttering!
