We slept in this morning. By an hour. Which is unusual for us.
Yesterday I headed into the city to the Ultimate Sale at Fabricland. Everything in the store was 50% off and I needed buttons for sure. The store wasn’t busy when I went in at 9:30 a.m. so I got done quickly.
Large sized buttons for the headbands are expensive and getting them at 50% off certainly helps.
I bought a piece of red satin for another top. It is that lovely blue red that us winter people love. It was on sale for $6.50/meter.
I bought this lovely teal blue satin. It is my favourite satin to sew. And it was in the bargain bin and on sale for $2.50/meter. The matching lining was the same price. The colour isn’t true until you look at the next picture – that is the true colour of the satin.
I got enough to muslin a dress for a client and what was left on the bolt will make me a vest. I can wear it with blue jeans and a classic white shirt.
This embroidered saree fabric was also on sale for $5.40/meter. I will use it up for sure on something I am sponsoring to a rodeo queen contest.
I also got some serger thread (red and teal) plus some gold embroidery thread. My most expensive buy of the day was yarn to make myself a button cowl or neck warmer.
I have the teal buttons for it. They are handmade by a lady east of the city. I bought some beads to put on top of the buttons to hide the holes. This cowl will be expensive (about $20.00) but it is for me.
I am thinking of a 3/4 length coat in black wool for next winter.
Today I am going to work on the kitchen, sew some, print some lessons for tutoring, and crochet another headband. Busy day but there is some fun things in it for me.

Great sale buying, and love the wool colour - well worth it since it is for you!
Looks like you hit the mother-load! There is nothing, I think, as satisfying and fun as shopping in a fabric store.
