The Week Is Done!

Whew!! Family Literacy Week is over (though every week should be Family Literacy week) and I don’t have to run out every night to do an activity. That can be exhausting. Yesterday was free public skating and the big prizes. We had 6 prizes in all which made it exciting. Overall, it was a good project, gave us a higher profile and people are asking that we do it again next year.

Family Games Night 144

Daughter was over with some more fabric for me to sew up. She is trying to help out and making the pile bigger by one more shirt. LOL But, I have decided to choose a colour and sew until it is completed. For the lilac, I have enough for 2 or 3 tops and that is what I will make. Two in one size and one in a smaller size. Two with embroidery and one with the flowers and sari on it. Then I will do white of which I have enough fabric for 4 tops. One with a sheer overlay, one embroidered, and one that will be plain. The fourth will have a plain body and very fancy sleeves. Two will be one size and two a size smaller. That is how I plan on getting through the pile of fabric set out for me to sew. BUT I am starting off with another shirt for the Spousal Unit. He deserves one for all the work he has been doing in the house.

I stared at the pattern instructions for the messenger bag for literally an hour and could not make hide nor hair out of the instructions. I just wasn’t getting it; probably because I was tired. You have to slit open pieces of the lining and I didn’t understand why, especially when you had to whip stitch them together later. I finally got that – you pull the fabric to the right side through those slits. I will steam-a-seam them shut. Then I looked again at the pattern pieces and how to sew a lining to the faux suede and finally got that step. I was feeling pretty stupid by the time I got it all figured out. I can now work on those steps and read about what to do next. I have come to the conclusion that the traced pieces will go into the pattern envelop and the pattern will be heading out the door when this purse is done.

My eating has been off the past couple of days due to being out for six nights in a row, having my sleep habits disturbed, and ending up feeling tired. I didn’t walk for the last two days as I had no energy. I drug myself around just getting things done, eating to get those surges of energy just to survive. So I start again today; eating properly and walking. I will be back on my schedule again and that will make me happy.

Until tomorrow..............................
