The Purple Top

It was a sunny warm day yesterday and I got out and walked in the yard. I did 10 laps easily so will be upping it to 12 today. I know I can handle an extra 2 laps a day until I get to 30 laps. Then I will stay at that level and add ball exercises.

The Spousal Unit has some touch up painting to do in the dining and living rooms and I have to go ahead of him and find them. There aren’t a lot but it needs to be done. He did more mudding of gyproc in the hallway. It is coming together quite nicely but we live with a coating of white dust on everything. I tried to keep it down but it doesn’t work. A sanding a day keeps everything white. So I quit keeping things clean until the upstairs is boarded and the mudding is done. Once the paint is on all the walls, I can then clean house which is going to take a week or more. Did I say that I find all this frustrating but once it is done, I love the results.

I headed down to the sewing room fairly fast yesterday morning to work on the purple top. There was a bit more to do than I thought. I had lots of seams to serge prior to stitching them together. But it was completed to crystals at 12:30 p.m. Nice to have it finished.

I want to put crystals around the neckline and up onto the shoulders. Then I want to put rows of crystals onto the sleeve cap and dip it downwards in a curve. The collar will have several rows of crystal.

My next project is to do some work on the messenger bag. It got put to one side as the purple top did a fair amount of shedding. I cleaned up that mess and can work on the bag knowing I have clean surfaces.

I want to start another shirt for the Spousal Unit on Sunday or Monday. I will do a tutorial on pointed yokes. I have a couple of ideas in my head that I hope will work.

Once that shirt is done, I will be working on a lilac coloured top for rodeo wear. I am getting my head around it as I need to add some extra items to it. It is going to be fun and I hope it comes together as I visualize it.

I am starting to feel the nights out – tiredness is setting in. Last night I was out until almost 9 p.m. That I hate. I drove 50 kms each way to the Family activity night and the traffic was unreal; I must have met 50 – 75 big trucks. That I hate. But the evening was fun. I didn’t have a lot of time to unwind before bed and I thought I would toss and turn for a couple of hours. But I slept 8.5 hours. For me that is good. Tonight is story time at the library and I am sure I will be crawling out of bed late tomorrow morning from 5 nights on the go. Saturday is free skating and in the afternoon. I will have a quiet evening and go to bed early. I promise you that.

Until tomorrow..................

wow the top is beautiful. Well done on getting back to your laps - this week I have done tons of cycling, so I hope to see the result of my efforts on Monday's weigh in (I think we are motivating each other)

Thank you for your comments on my last post - I have actually set my heart on an Art Deco theme - so basically the dresses will be fairly simple, but of course require me to stick rigid to my diet, but I have 16 months and approx 20lbs I would like to lose, so should get there even if its only half a pound a week.

I have decided on champagne as the colour and the bridesmaid in the same - Mike will wear a typical 1920's white, shirt, bow tie and tails..........be prepared for lots of questions soon.
