Yesterday was the hodge podge day for us. The Spousal Unit started priming the dining and living rooms and I went to work in the sewing room. I was staying out of his way as Monday I tipped his tray of mud over in to the dirt, dog hair, gravel, etc. that I haven’t cleaned up for 3 weeks (why I say when it gets filthy in 20 minutes when renovating). We both heard a dinging noise looked out and there was our accountant getting his case out of the car. Morning gone doing our income tax paper work with him.
After lunch I worked like crazy on the top for 3 hours. I wanted to get the neckline done so I can start the sleeves the next time I can sew. I stuck with it and tried to deepen the neckline a bit, hold the collar a bit closer to the shoulder seams, and here is the result.
I love the look of the fabric. Though it is shimmery lace over satin, it reminds me of brocade. When it is done, I will just add crystals to it. I know of a couple of people who love it at this stage of the game.
Today I am out all day at a meeting and then I have set up the hall for another round of Family Games. Tomorrow I can sew again for several hours.
Until tomorrow...........................

this is looking great - are you going to line the sleeves too or leave them lacy and see through?
This is just beautiful, and well worth the effort (and time) you are putting into it. Don't we all just wish for a few hours alone in the sewing room to do our own thing....
