Emptying the Bin

The weather has warmed up and I am heading to the city to do some shopping. I have to get games and a Kobo for prizes for Family Week Literacy. Plus I needed a few sewing items, groceries, and renovation supplies.

I finished the small wall hanging and though I love it, I will have to think about how to do the next one better. It wants to curl up at the bottom corners. The fusible batting didn’t work like I thought it would.

I took a peek into the tub I am working on and there isn’t a lot left to make.

The dragon fly fabric has no other fabric to match it so it will be moved out until I find something to go with it. At the bottom of the tub is a bag full of thread, velcro, and gripper for slippers. I will be putting them into the proper supply drawers.

So...........what was in that tub?

The below project interested me when I bought it several years ago. I had designed a reusable grocery bag and a lady incorporated this design into my pattern. Very nicely done. I am thinking about doing it in my new bag pattern, adapting the size to fit what I have.

I found a brown scrap for the bird and a large piece of the bottom right hand fabric for the bag. I will line it with broadcloth. I look forward to working on this project.

The next bag in the tub had this lovely desert sunset coloured fabric in it. The piece  under the black is a peach colour and will be the fabric I do the embroidery on. The black is for the backing.

For a wall hanging that will look like this one.

I can do it vertical or horizontal. This is a fun project to do.

Something with a western element. Just need a piece of fabric for the backing/lining. It could be a crayon tote or an iPad cover or a table topper.

I made a wallet that has zippered pockets in it. I made three or four years ago. If there is enough fabric, I could make an iPad cover like this one or a paper tablet holder.

When these are done, there is still a closet full of craft fabric left to sew up. But the next few projects are picked out. I will begin them in February.

When the white top is finished, I am going to start another one. It will be white with interesting fabric on the sleeves. Daughter found the fabric and bought only enough for sleeves. I don’t think I will do embroidery on this top, just load it with crystals. But that won’t happen until February either.

Until tomorrow..............................
