A Bit of Confessing

So far we have had three successful Family Literacy fun evenings. It is great to see people out doing activities with their children. The goal is to get families doing more together at home.

A little update on the top. The sleeves will be lined with the black satin. The satin will be hemmed and the lace will have scallops at the wrist. It gives a nice look to the top. I should have this top done today if all goes well. Pictures tomorrow.

Joyce mentioned using duvet zippers in the garment bags. She hit the nail on the head. I had phoned Fabricland on Monday and talked to them about zippers and that is what they suggested. I will be purchasing one when I go in next week and will make a garment bag to see how it turns out appearance and cost wise.

I have to confess, I haven’t exercised since the cold weather hit us on Jan. 15. It has warmed up and I did walk quite a bit on Sunday when we were shopping. Monday I had things to do and didn’t get there, Tuesday it rained, Wednesday meetings. I have it on the agenda for today. I will drop back to 10 laps in the yard and build up 2 laps per day. The end of the month is coming and I won’t have met my goal of 30 laps. Feb. 1st I will be adding ball exercises and continue moving towards the 30  laps.

I did look at the exercise room and my walking video but there isn’t enough room. With an antique side board, dresser and treadle sewing machine in the small room and I am out of space for exercising. There is enough room to do ball exercises when I start them. I want to sell the antique sideboard, give away the treadle machine and just keep the antique dresser. That will give me more room.

My eating habits have improved. I am almost back to where I was. I am tired and my eyes are running and I finally figured out why. Not only did I miss some Synthroid, but I am allergic to the drywall compound dust. I am in rolling allergy mode with relief only coming when I am out of the house. I am not complaining but when the upstairs is done in February, I have to clean the house from top to bottom.

The lack of exercise and allergies put my body into survival mode and I don’t loose weight easily. I need to push myself forward; walking and eating properly. I hope it will help me loose weight. I am hoping the allergies will settle down. If not, I will have to take allergy pills to control the issue.

Oh poor you, you do sound like you are in the wars - thanks for the clarification on your sleeves- good idea on the duvet zip - we have these zips you can buy by the metre which are quite cheap in my normal market, guess they would be ideal for the bags.
