After teaching Home Ec for 3 years and following SWAP since it first began, I began to plan my weight loss SWAP. It has to be easy, and allow me to wear the pieces for several months before I make new clothes to wear. I decided that I wanted to have red, black, tan, and cream for my new wardrobe. The patterns I am choosing are multi-sized so I can make them again if I want to. But nothing is carved in stone as I might decide to try other patterns later on.
To begin with I wanted to make a blouse and decided on taking a lead from Wendy at the Stitcher's Guild and make Vogue 8248 View B, view C will be made if I have enough fabric. I like longer sleeves for winter as I am always cold. I plan on putting 6 buttons up the front as I do not like to have that deep a V neckline.

I have a piece of winter white silk that I plan on making into a blouse also. I want to get it out of 2 meters so I have 2 meters left for later on. I got this fabric for under $5.00 a meter 2 years ago. This blouse will be plain so I can wear it under other tops or jackets and I want to wear it for quite a while as I loose weight.
The pant's pattern is undecided right now as I am not sure of the drape of the fabric. It is a cotton with lyrca in it. The colour I chose is black as they are a good staple for school. The jacket I am making to match the pants is OPP Butterick 6919. I might line it as it is going to be part of a suit. If lined, the lining will be black (boring but I want to wear it with several other pieces).
The last piece of fabric I have is a faux suede in a caramel colour. I got enough to make a pair of pants. The black jacket and winter white blouse will look good with this and I will find some other fabric that can make into tops.

I found your blog from the link on Stitchers Guild. No comments yet so I had to be the first. Your fabrics look good together. Very classic color combo. I have been impressed with how nice that blouse has turned out when others made it. I am taking a break from formal SWAP sewing this summer but will be avidly following the summer SWAP postings.
Thanks for the comment Audrey. I have also added a green piece of linen blend fabric to the swap pile so I can wear it with the blouse fabrics. I am also thinking of looking through my stash for other fabrics to sew for this swap.
